I have always enjoyed teaching and am comfortable with students of all ages, from young pre-schoolers through those at the university level. I look at teaching as sharing information with another person and helping him to develop the skills he needs to explore, enjoy and succeed in the world. Does that mean learning facts and figures? Yes, it does. But it also means finding out what excites that student, what he is interested in, and then, helping to bridge the gap between what he knows a...
My daughter is really enjoying her lessons with Danelle. She will be studying abroad next year and Danelle is wonderful at getting her ready to not only speak the language but to ?fit in? in Paris as well.
- Jackie G. from Tarzana, CA
She was patient and made my daughter feel comfortable right away. She also offered additional help outside of tutoring time as needed which I thought was very generous.
- Dana C. from Northridge, CA
Danelle is teaching me French and helping me get through my French102 class in college this summer. I have to say that she is literally the reason I have been able to be successful in such a condensed and fast paced summer class. She is teaching me fundamentals and bridging my French101 gaps, but she is also teaching me about French culture and history and how it relates to the language and differs from American culture and the English language. Her teaching methods are super clear and things make sense and are fun to learn. I can't wait to continue with her after my required class is complete, because I really feel like I'm finally learning French and I want to keep it going.

My son has had French tutors occasionally in the past and always left the lesson more confused than before he started. With Danelle, my son told me immediately upon her leaving (we booked a two hour session) that she helped him immensely! Had we known Danelle earlier, we would have had her all year long. We are looking forward to our next lesson and hope to have her for the next school year when he takes French V. On a personal level, her personality is fabulous! I am thrilled we found her! I recommend her highly!!

When I decided to find a language tutor for my son, I was not looking for someone that would just help him get by, but I was looking for someone to help him connect his inner life with his ability to express himself. I wanted him to not just pass tests, but I wanted him to learn the tool of expression so that whatever avenue he chooses in life, he will have a great opportunity to achieve his goals personally and professionally. Danelle does not take a traditional approach. She treats language as access to an inner life. Like poetry. That is what I was looking for and I am delighted she is working with my son. I recommend her highly.

If I have to define Danelle as a tutor, I would say that she is patient, clear when explaining things, and open to help you to prepare the exam in every way. When I started to prepare the TOEFL, I needed someone to give me a set course of action. I've had great tutors before, but none that could provide a set of actionable items and goals to move forward, especially on the writing section, where we worked on organization, to be a more detailed writer and speed improving techniques. She not only helped me to get better in my writing skills, but also in other areas, such as reading and speaking. Danelle and I would meet once a week for a couple of months. The first day that we met, she made me take a test in order to determine my english level and to see what areas I had to work more. Each day after this, she provided me homework where I had to write 2 essays, which she would check during the following meeting. She would then show me my errors and how to correct them. Also, she would bring exercises for me to work on my grammar, and she would provide me with vocabulary sheets. Danelle was the perfect tutor for me and helped me to get a great score on the TOEFL!

Today was our second session with Danelle for our daughter. Danelle is very patient and helpful with helping our daughter with her studies. Danelle sent an overview of her lesson with Mary today which was fabulous. I cannot wait to see results and write another amazing review.
- Rima M. from Burbank, CA
I was working on improving essay writing skills for CBEST test. On the first meeting, Ms. Danelle reviewed my sample descriptive essay. While I was working with her, she suggested me to write with more vivid words so that my audience can connect with my writing. When we worked on another essay, she provided me an examples of more descriptive sentences. I finally felt the "Ah ha moment" after I completed the first tutor session with her. Ms. Danelle is an excellent teacher who was not only able to identify her student's strength and weakness on the first meeting, but also provided a lesson according to her student's weakness. I will definitely recommend Ms. Danelle to other students.
- Rosa M. from Panorama City, CA
I have only met with Danelle a handful of times and already I really feel my skills are improving. Her system of teaching is very simple to grasp and makes pronunciation and memorization easy and rhythmic. Her passion for French culture and story telling and her over all sense of humor also make learning with her a pleasure!
- Quentin B. from Los Angeles, CA
I've danced around the French language for many years now and Danelle had a fresh, direct approach to teaching that I really connected with. Very highly recommended.

I'm so grateful for having met with Danelle. She is extremely brilliant and extremely down- to earth! Although I met with her just once at a local Starbucks, I'm now convinced that she is a treasure of a resource for those looking for tutoring. She is a true diamond!
- Fred G. from Van Nuys, CA
Danelle teaches my middle school daughter French. She is very patient but appropriately firm. My daughter has tried other programs which included one on one tutoring but she has progressed much faster with Danelle. I also like much of what she is learning is really practical. We would wholeheartedly recommend her!
- Lilly K. from Burbank, CA
We have just started to use Danelle for our 10th grader in AP Euro. It's been a can of worms. As you start digging in, you realize that struggling in school or a subject has many implications beyond just reading a chapter again or doing practice problems. You have inexperienced junior tutors that only know how to just throw work at the problem. In contrast you have someone experienced like Danelle who attacks the problem from many angles. I can't declare victory this early in the process, but I am happy and hopeful now that we are doing something about it. Danelle is multi-dimensional, smart, engaging, and cerebral. I look forward to where this journey is going.

My 15 year-old daughter is struggling with French at her high school and I found Danelle through Wyzant. It was clear to me by other reviews that she would be helpful to us. Danelle answered our inquiry quickly and arranged to meet with us within a few days of the initial contact. She is American but speaks absolutely fluent, impeccable French. How do I know this? Because I myself speak advanced-level French (I lived there). It is a benefit that she is able to quickly identify the mistakes and pitfalls we, as Americans, make in speaking French. My daughter's experience was so positive, and Danelle was able to quickly identify areas that need to be addressed. She was patient and kind and fun to be with. She takes her work very seriously and arrived on time and was ready to help. We are excited to have Danelle in our lives, helping our daughter gain confidence and joy in learning this language. Do not hesitate to contact her! Lovely person.

I was recently hired as a flight attendant, and will need to speak French for my position on a regular basis. I am working with Danelle to review my French skills acquired during school, as well as learn new terminology and conversational components. Danelle understands the technical aspects of language very well, and her pronunciation and accent are perfect! Since she is American, she is able understand where I am having trouble with pronunciation and sentence structure; this really helps because her explanations are clear and logical.

It was the week before finals, and an AP European History test that was worth 15% of my final grade was less than days away. Having been taught over 650 years of history, my mind happen to forget a thing or two. Danelle was so quick and eager to respond. Having informed me of her past of not only living, but taking the course, in FRANCE, I couldn't have gone wrong! She didn't teach me from notes or past quizzes; all I had to give her was a packet of dates and she lead my mind to, somehow, connect all events from Columbus 1492 to today's economic struggles. Having a tutor that lived in Europe, who understood the mindset of a struggling teenager, and who was so funny about it was perfect! The best part was that, also being experienced in English and other courses, she was able to tie in some ideas that would be useful for future classes and the AP exam. I had asked for her services on a Tuesday, and by Wednesday she was at my house ready to teach me what my teacher had been doing for two semesters. Overall a wonderful tutor, an experienced historian, an awesome woman. She will definitely be called next year for help with AP US History!
- Justin K. from Northridge, CA
Danelle has been working with my granddaughter for a couple of months and has been a tremendous help to her. I would describe her tutoring method as very integrated and she brings many subjects together, making things like math and reading come to life! She's extremely patient and kind in her teaching style, which is so important for children. Their sessions together have been very productive and my granddaughter looks forward to working with Danelle.
- Elyn M. from Rancho Cucamonga, CA
She really knows how to get you to learn quickly. I did not even realize how much I have learned so far until she had me speaking to her in French simulating different situations such as going to a restaurant.
- Richard H. from Studio City, CA
Danelle worked with our daughter in preparation for a school monologue. Danelle immediately identified our daughter's strengths, weaknesses, and energy and tailored the lesson accordingly. Danelle has such a versatile background and provided advice in related areas such as acting, singing and other performing arts. She has an incredibly broad knowledge base! Furthermore, Danelle and our daughter instantly developed a bond and provided a learning environment with the perfect balance of discipline and fun. I would highly recommend enlisting her services. Danelle has so much wisdom to share!
